Today, it is the 3rd of May; it was long and amusing. We went on a bit of a peregrination today. The "we" includes me,my sister,my cousins,my mother,my aunts and my grandparents.I had a lot of fun during the road trip.We travelled in a rather substantial car which we had hired from the car driver. We first travelled to Nanjangud where my sister's hair was shaved; her long silky hair is no more but I surmise she needs to wait a mere one year for her hair to grow long again. In Mysore and other regions in Karnataka, one needs to get his or her hair shaved at least twice.I was depilated four times! Fortunately, this time my (dead) hair survived and will grow long to resemble Steve Jobs. Also, there was a big rather Brobdingnagian weighing scale.I was made to sit on one of the sides and jaggery was stowed on the other sides until the scale was balanced. As unbelievable as it may seen, it is true.I was made to do it because my grandmother had made an arka i.e. a wish to god, which upon coming true, the person who had wished has to donate something to a temple.Yes, so all the x kilograms of jaggery was donated to the temple. Then, we came back home and were off again (after freshening up, of course). We journeyed to the nearby range of hilltops, Chamundi hills. There are mainly two reasons to visit the hill (or hills!): One, to admire the colossal temple which sits on the apex and two, to admire the Cleanest (FYI, Mysore was ranked first in the Swachh Bharat Campaign, making it the cleanest city in India!) and most marvellous (my opinion 😃) city in India, Mysore. The temple was as old as time (blatantly, I did not mean it! for, light cannot travel at two different speeds!).It housed a sculpture of the goddess Chamundeshwari which was Brobdingnagian. Then after getting the 'darshan' done, we treated ourselves with all the food that was available outside; that consisted of; Churmuri(puffed rice with vegetables and other savory (ingreidients),raw mango with spices,Bajji(Baked potato wrapped in wheat), and corn.If that weren't enough, while journeying back home, we also had a delectable chaat. Congruously, I had a marvellous peregrination and currently, I am on my toes; waiting for the upcoming episode of Genius:Einstein which will be aired on Nat Geo at 10 p.m.Goodbye!
