Reading, never gets old does it? Today, I performed what I had once deemed impossible, reading the entire book of The Narrative of the life of Fredrick Douglass; If you're a classics reader, it is a must read; if you're not, it's still a must read! Reading this book was something of an astonishment.Though it's not supposed to be an imagine and read book, I deem biographies are to be imagined-if you truly want to experience life at its written form.I picked up at least a hundred,if not two hundred words. The book was written in the 1880s thus, reading it gives you a detailed description of the tormented life in the Americas in that era.As the book itself was but a written form of Douglass's life, I would speak thus unhesitatingly that his life was capricious at its highest form; the plot was truly astounding and it fell to the ground as soon as it reached the peak. The discontentment came in at the finale. The last few pages were rather superfluous;Douglass turned to using Christianity to contrast with slavery and thus, the plot was stuck in a tangle and was very complicated.Apart from reading the book,I also watched a movie in my mother tongue, kannada. The movie was sentimental to the highest degree and I don't know if I'm supposed to feel embarassed or proud but I did shed a few tears which I do very rarely. The movie was entitled the name of pushpaka vimana which, when translated to english returns: "A bird's flight".The movie was altogether new in terms of plot and resolution. That's today's short but engaging day.
